What to Expect
Each class is built with intent.
We start with movement and drills that build coordination, control, and awareness. These patterns show up often in training, in self-defense, and during live rounds. Building that muscle memory early helps you learn safely and gives you the foundation to grow into the advanced movements later.
From there, you’ll be shown one or two positions. You will work with a partner to drill the technique, ask questions, and get time to apply it during live training at the end.
Marcelo and his coaches take the time to explain why the details matter and how to train in a way that helps you keep improving. Marcelo leads most classes himself. When he is not teaching, the class is led by coaches who started here and spent years learning under him. They understand how and why we train the way we do, and they carry that forward.

Who Trains Here
From Beginners to Experts, Parents and Kids
We have first-time students, experienced grapplers, parents, professionals, and people who just want something real in their routine. Some train five days a week. Some come twice a week to stay moving and stay connected.
You do not need to be in shape. You do not need to know anything before you walk in. What matters is that you listen and attempt the position, respect the space, and keep showing up.

What to wear

You can train in a gi if you have one. If not, just come in fitted athletic clothes for your first class and we will supply you with a trial gi. We will help you get everything you need once you are ready to continue.
If you decide to sign up and keep training, we require all students to wear our team gi. It helps keep the space clean, consistent, and connected. It also reflects the standard we train with together.

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
In No-Gi, the grips change. But the fundamentals matter just as much as they do in the gi. Without collars or sleeves to hold onto, you rely more on timing, positioning, and body control. The pace is faster, and every adjustment becomes more important.
No-Gi classes are taught with the same structure and attention to detail as our gi training. You will start with movement drills, work through one or two techniques, and finish with rolling. Each part of class builds on the last, helping you develop real skill through consistent training and calculated adjustments under pressure.
Training in No-Gi sharpens your timing, improves your sensitivity to movement, and helps you develop cleaner technique. These skills carry over into your gi training and give you a better understanding of what works in both settings.
It also teaches you how to stay composed when the pace picks up, which is valuable not just in competition, but in real-world situations where control matters.
Whether you are here to compete, cross-train, or explore another side of Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi will challenge you in ways that help you grow.

Great place to train. Marcelo is a fantastic instructor and the environment is welcoming for all levels. Highly recommend!
I dropped into the 7-9am class. Amazing experience, the instruction and culture are among the best I’ve seen in 10 years of training!!! I will be back to train with Marcelo again without question.
