What to Expect
Each class is built with intent.
Kids are grouped by age so we can meet them at the right level. Every class is structured, consistent, and led by coaches who know how to keep things focused while still encouraging each student to grow individually.
We start with movements to build balance, awareness, and control. After that, students are shown one or two positions. They practice those movements with a partner in a safe, supervised environment. Older groups may also apply what they have learned during rolling, depending on age and experience.
Marcelo leads most of the classes himself. When he is not on the mat, one of his coaches will lead. Every coach has trained and learned directly under Marcelo, and understands how and why he teaches the way he does.
The most important part is showing up. Kids learn by being consistent, supported, and having a clear understanding of expectations. That is where real change happens.

Who Is This For?
From Beginners to Experts, Parents and Kids
Get Your Free ClassThis class is for kids between the ages of four and fifteen. Whether your child is full of energy or quieter and reserved, this environment helps them build confidence, discipline, and respect for themselves and the people around them.
Some parents bring their kids to learn self-defense. Some want to help their child stay focused and improve their confidence. Either way, we are here to support that growth.
Older teens may be invited to train with the adult classes depending on their maturity and experience.

What to wear

You can train in a gi if you have one. If not, just come in fitted athletic clothes for your first class and we will supply you with a trial gi. We will help you get everything you need once you are ready to continue.
If you decide to sign up and keep training, we require all students to wear our team gi. It helps keep the space clean, consistent, and connected. It also reflects the standard we train with together.

What ages can join, and how are classes divided?
We welcome kids from ages 4 to 15. Students are grouped by age to make sure they learn at a pace that fits them. If you’re unsure which class your child belongs in, we’ll help you find the best fit.
Does my child need to buy a gi before their first class?
No, you can bring your child in with just a t-shirt and athletic shorts, and we’ll supply them with a trial gi. Once they’re signed up and ready to keep training, you’ll need to purchase a team gi so your child will feel part of the team in the proper attire. All of our students are required to wear team uniforms.
Can we come watch before joining?
Yes, you’re welcome to visit, meet the team, and see how a class is run. It’s a great way to get a feel for the environment and ask any questions before your child steps on the mat.

Great place to train. Marcelo is a fantastic instructor and the environment is welcoming for all levels. Highly recommend!
I dropped into the 7-9am class. Amazing experience, the instruction and culture are among the best I’ve seen in 10 years of training!!! I will be back to train with Marcelo again without question.
